In the last week of May, Sanctuary of Hope celebrated Community College Black Student Achievement Week. SOH’s Black affirming programs and spaces are one of many approaches to increase persistence, transfer, and completion rates for struggling students. Our system navigators assist students in an economic or social crisis. Our transitional housing and time-limited subsidies provide relief for students in a housing crisis. Our international and national travel program, Destinations, develops and prepare students to be strong global equity leaders. Thanks to partnerships with local community colleges and Black achievement-focused campus and community programs, our Black community college students are persisting, transferring, and completing at record numbers.
