SOH and our young adult leaders are commemorating Runaway and Homeless Youth Awareness Month in November. To spread awareness, we have prepared snippets of interviews and memes with policy leaders, business and faith leaders, volunteers, residents, and formerly homeless youth in South Los Angeles.
Check out SOH’s social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) for new media posts and our YouTube channel’s playlist.
November is a great opportunity to get involved through volunteerism, philanthropy, and activism.
Play An Important Role This Month:
1. Offer your place of work, worship, or community association as platforms to share the devastating traumatic effects of youth homelessness.
2. Donate money or in-kind goods and services to your local homeless youth nonprofit organization. Additional resources go a long way in housing, feeding, and providing transportation for nonprofits who serve homeless youth daily.
3. Engage in advocacy and action with federal, state, and local representatives to stop the homelessness, incarceration, or gangs pipeline by giving our homeless youth stable housing and support services for self-sufficiency.
