It is has been a week for us preparing for the upcoming South LA homeless youth count. Our executive director was out today conducting outreach to inform the community and youth of the upcoming count.
On Monday, January 12, we participated in a youth focus group to identify hot spots within South LA’s central and north western region where homeless youth are likely to congregate. We know it’s a difficult task because our youth tend to blend with their familiar and comfortable environments; and avoid being labeled homeless when they lack a regular fixed night time residence.

We need all of our community assets to inform that we will be out on on January 27 from 9 am to 3 pm counting homeless youth and to ensure that they are included in the census.” – Janet Denise Kelly, Executive Director.
