On Thursday, October 20, Sanctuary of Hope was honored to receive a service grant from Soroptimist International Lakewood/Long Beach for our work to empower young women at their annual Live Your Dream Awards event. In addition to the honor and recognition, Sanctuary of Hope’s Julia received a $1,000 scholarship to invest in her dreams to obtain credentials from Otis College to become a fine arts professional. Julia gave an emotional speech about her homeless experience and how stable housing has helped her stay in college.
Our board, staff, and youth thank Soroptimist International for the honor and support of homeless girls and young women in Los Angeles County.
