The Equity Weekend was a prelude to planned efforts by the SOH Young Action Leadership to increase young adult involvement in electoral and political education, engagement, and voter registration. SOH’s Young Action Leaders were on hand to serve as ambassadors and marshals for the Equity Weekend’s Washington March. Equity Weekend brought together voices from across the nation to foster solutions to eradicate poverty, racism, and injustice. The Young Action Leadership engaged in welcome and congressional briefings, congressional office visits, debriefing and reporting, as well as an evening reception. Other youth-led activities included voter registration, an education panel, STD information and testing, and a resource fair.
