Sanctuary of Hope is a founding member of the South L.A. Homeless TAY & Foster Care Collaborative. In 2013, we set a goal to devise strategic actions to prevent and end youth homelessness by mobilizing our local community and faith stakeholders.
The first goal in 2013 was to bring awareness and engage all communities of faith to take action. The second goal in 2014 was to have the community develop a local plan to prevent and end youth homelessness, which happened with the help of over 300 local stakeholders called the “Homeless No More” Community Plan.
Now, in 2015, we are in the implementation stage of the Homeless No More Plan that calls for Interfaith participation and leveraging.
At the upcoming 3rd Interfaith Summit on Homeless Youth on May 13, 8 am – 12 pm at Holman United Methodist Church, we will provide tools and strategies for effective partnership and leveraging as well as provide a brief overview of the plan.
