Staff loves supporting our youth’s endeavors to showcase their talent. Our Executive Director, Janet Kelly, attended Real To Reel’s youth talent show event at the Blue J Bar and Lounge in Los Angeles. Real to Reel, by Better Youth Inc., is a youth media showcase competition that honors youth who make original and unique media projects that address an issue plaguing their local or global community. Youth learn a variety of skills in film making and production.
Another highlight of the evening was a performance by David Hernandez, who sung his popular song “Beautiful” and other melodies that included the late Prince’s Purple Rain.
We are proud to support Johna who we believe will be on the national spoken-word circuit soon. She is actively involved in Real to Reel and want to have regular outlets to showcase youth talent. Here is a piece she performed entitled, “Dedication”.
