Our Executive Director is holding No and Reduced Fee forms for ID’s that came in the mail from the State of California. Thanks to Assembly Bill 1733, Californians experiencing homelessness, as defined further in the federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, are eligible to receive at no cost, a certified record of live birth or a state-issued photo identification card.
Lacking an identification card is a huge barrier to the personal, educational, and employment success of a youth. As a youth development human service agency, SOH helps youth obtain an identification card for employment, benefits, school, and other services by being among a list of providers designated to
make a referral.
